French Haute cuisine
Posted Monday, April 3, 2006
If you're lucky enough to get a reservation after weeks of waiting you'll see why Taillevent is one of the most celebrated traditional French haute cuisine restaurants in Paris, a 3 Michelin stars establishment since 1973. Taillevent classics are boudin de homard, a lobster sausage, panfried duck liver with ginger or lamb with cabbage. The menu is changing daily and the wine cellar has an exceptional offer with over 600,000 bottles of France's greatest wines. The 19th-century mansion setting is luxurious, with wood panellings, glowing chandeliers and modern paintings hanging on the walls.
Reservations should be made 4-6 weeks in advance. Seven course dégustation menus are available for 130 and 180 euros. Formal attire is required. Restaurant is closed on weekends and in August.
