L'Astrance
Charming haute cuisine restaurant
Posted Tuesday, April 4, 2006
Despite its fame and critical acclaim, l'Astrance manages to stay less expensive and much less formal though haute cuisine than other restaurants of similar standard. The dining room is small and intimate with charcoal grey walls and great space between the tables. Talented and imaginative chef Pascal Barbot is known to serve his signature "ravioli" made of crab salad between slices of avocado with a drizzle of sweet almond oil. Other spectacular dishes include glazed rabbit with curry, roast guinea fowl or grilled lamb in citrus sauce with fresh dates.
Reservations should be made weeks in advance. A fixed-price menu is available for 150 euros (250 with the wine). Restaurant is closed in August and on Mondays.
