Guy Savoy
Guy Savoy's eponymous luxury restaurant in Paris

Posted Monday, April 3, 2006

Guy Savoy, one of the leading chefs in Paris and Europe prepares magical meals bringing together the freshest and most delicious ingredients that France has to give. The setting for probably one of the finest Parisian dining experiences is somehow minimalist but warm at the same time, with dark African wood sculptures, Georges Autard's abstract paintings on the walls and cream-color marble. Portions are small but meals can comprise as many as nine courses, allowing you to sample many of Savoy's gastronomic inventions or his take on more traditional dishes. The specialty of the house is an artichoke soup with black truffles and long flakes of parmesan. In autumn, Savoy is known to serve dishes based on two of the ingredients he is fascinated with: mushrooms and pumpkins.

If you're a fan of Savoy's cooking he has four more dining venues open in Paris: Le Chiberta, La Butte Chaillot, Les Bouquinistes and L’Atelier Maître Albert.

Reservations for dinner should be made 4 weeks in advance; for lunch 2 or 3 days in advance. Restaurant is closed mid-July to mid-Aug. Formal attire is required.
