Rex Club
One of Paris's most famous nightclubs
Posted Monday, March 20, 2006
Rex Club attracts a lively crowd, interested in dancing and partying and less in flashing outfits, sunglasses or jewelry. The club opened in 1984 and become famous in 1991 when top DJ Laurent Garnier took over. Ever since, the club welcomed some of the biggest international DJs like Carl Cox or Sven Vath and top French DJs like the Daft Punk. The club benefits from a top-class sound system.
Rex manages to accommodate lovers of all club genres by pairing nights with styles, going from techno to house music and Drum 'n Bass. The special events, like "Massive" drum 'n bass night, second Wednesday of every month (free night), and Automatik on Fridays are deservedly popular.
Dress is smart casual - not many Armani suits here - and door policy is quite simple, although arriving with someone who speaks French helps. Drinks start at 8 euros.
