Batofar
the Red Lightship

Posted Friday, March 17, 2006

The Batofar, a converted lighthouse boat moored on the Seine, attracts less poseur crowds and more serious clubbers. World's most famous DJs come here to spin a mix of trance, house, techno and electro until dawn. Live performances can be attended during the week as Batofar is also the place where innovative musicians can find an audience. The Batofar is also famous for its trans-European themed nights.

The dance floor is a bustling place down below the deck and on summer nights, crowds can boogie on the upper deck or even on the banks of the Seine. Drinks are provided by three small bars, one of them accessible only by ladder through a porthole.

The Batofar opens at 6 pm and the party goes on until early morning at 4 am from Tuesday to Saturday. It is closed from November to March.
