Guided tours of Paris by air-conditioned buses
Posted Monday, March 6, 2006
Paris Vision offers sightseeing tours on double-deck buses, similar to the ones of Cityrama, both guided and with recorded commentary. The guided tours include visits inside the monuments and museums with a qualified guide-interpreter. The other tours, are escorted by a hostess and every passenger gets a set of headphones to listen to the audio commentary in the language of choice (14 languages are provided).
The quickest way to discover Paris, especially if you've never been there, is the 2-hour tour for 19 euros that takes you to see the most important sights: Opera Square, Concorde, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Trocadero, Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Pont-Neuf, Bastille, Notre-Dame, Luxembourg Gardens et Saint-Germain-des-Pres. If you're interested in seeing Paris from the water and from above you can choose a bus drive combined with a cruise on the Seine and a lunch at the Eiffel Tower restaurant for 79 euros. If you're an art lover in a hurry your best bet is the Paris Full Day option with a guided tour of the Louvre Museum in the morning and a Notre-Dame tour in the evening.
The night tours include a variation of Illuminations bus drives with cruises on the Seine, dinners and shows at Moulin Rouge and Lido de Paris cabarets.
Like Cityrama, Paris Vision organizes guided tours outside of Paris. You can visit Mont Saint-Michel, the Loire castles, Fontainebleau and Barbizon, the Versailles and Disneyland.
The meeting and return points for Paris Vision tours are at their Rivoli Agency: 214, Rue de Rivoli. There is no pickup or drop-off from the hotel.
