Hotel Bel-Ami
Contemporary designer hotel in St. Germain des Près
Posted Thursday, March 30, 2006
Grace Leo-Andrieu, pioneer of the boutique hotel, opened the contemporary-styled Bel-Ami in 2000, designing it with the fussy international traveler in mind. The simple elegance of the clean lines, muted earthy warm tones, minimalist decorations and functional design contribute to Bel-Ami's popularity among the fashionistas. Located a couple blocks from Boulevard St. Germain, surrounded by lovely restaurants, cafes, art galleries, designer boutique shops and the Bon Marché stores nearby, the Bel-Ami is the place to start an authentic French experience.
The design of the 115 rooms and suites is also minimalist, maximizing space for a calm and airy atmosphere, away from the crowded Parisian streets. The color palette includes shades of orange, light blue, brown and soft green. The style is relaxed luxury meets functional. The bathrooms are simple in white marble. Starting at 270 euros, rooms are sound proofed and have air conditioning, mini-bar, safe, satellite TV, WIFI, phone, hair dryer.
A mosaic-tiled bar and a chic fireplace lobby lounge serves cocktails and the Bel-Ami Cafe serves a buffet breakfast. The working traveler can find in the lobby 2 computers with free Internet access.
